Many resources exist on campus that have a connection to your overall well-being and ability to do well at work and school. Caregiving responsibilities, financial stressors, and meeting the most basic needs like food and shelter and all have an impact on our mental health and wellbeing. These resources exist to support you and your peers.
Students may set up an individual meeting with a financial aid advisor in MyUI as well as find tools for managing and saving money.
Student Life Emergency Fund
The Student Life Emergency Fund was created to assist and support University of Iowa students who encounter an unforeseen financial emergency or catastrophic event which would otherwise prevent them from continuing their education at the University of Iowa.
One-on-one appointments about budgeting and planning are available for free. Additionally, there are a number of seminars and trainings available for financial wellness.
UI Emergency Hardship Fund
The UI Emergency Hardship Fund has been established to supports costs, of up to $1000, related to an emergency event or crisis, resulting in a financial hardship.

Student Care and Assistance
Student Care and Assistance provides assistance to University of Iowa students experiencing crisis and emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, long-term illness, or the death of a family member.
Caring for aging loved ones can be complex and stressful. Supports for employees who are caregivers exists. Consultations, workshops and in-home assessments are available to help UI employees who are in the caregiving role.
